NZ ECO Fashion Show

One of this year's highlights in Wellington had to be this ; the NZ Eco Fashion Exposed show, about 2 months ago.

I was lucky enough to have met the person behind this show, Denise Anglesey, who had me performing on the electric violin during a music interlude in the middle of the fashion show. Other than that, I had walked for 3 designers that day. So, I had more than one hat to wear that day.

I had gone there hours earlier for a round of rehearsals and soundcheck with the girls. Was quite pleased with the sound system at the venue and Jack, the sound guy who was so cooperative and helpful. :)

The show opened with the Kapa Haka, a Maori performance. They looked so colourful! At this point in time, all the models and deisgners were scrambling backstage to get everyone ready.

A few designs from local designers.

The first designer that I've walked for is Nora Swann.
Her creations are done with upcycled T-shirts!

Can you spot me? Heh.

Taken during mid-walk.

Took this backstage. I loved the colour! <3

The next designer that I walked for is Dane Dagger. So happy when he chose me to open for his collections! :)

Everything passed so quickly for me once the show had started. Before I knew it, I was already playing the ending of 'Laughing Buddha', by Vanessa Mae. Time really flies when you're busy!

My outfit was designed specifically for me by Denise herself! :) Thank you for the lovely outfit!

Oh yeah, I probably haven't mentioned why I had those crazy brows. Part of the look that night was BOLD brows and high ponies, which  looked something like this up close. Even Doug had to take some time to get used to my new look! I kinda liked it. Lol! Fierrrce.

The show almost came to a close a little after the last designer I walked and opened for, Zorro Potion. I absolutely loved her designs! They were glamorous and memorable. People even cheered for her when she came out on the runway!

My outfit was called Show Pony.
It was glam, steampunk and cute wrapped in one outfit!!

There was even a bustle on my, uh, behind. Haha
The details on her dresses and outfits were so intricate. Me like!

The first time I put on this outfit for a fitting session, I was breathless.
Not only did it fit like a glove, I have never worn such a unique design before. She was sweet enough to come to mine to do a fitting, I was super duper excited and honoured when a designer requested to do a fitting at my place! *paiseh*

She even chose me to open for her collection and walk alongside her for the finale! *more paiseh*
That's myself with Zorro and another gorgeous model Kendell, looking like bombshells in sparkly gold dresses!

Thank you, Zorro Potion! I was so happy to be a part of Ghost Train!
(Can you see my bustle now? <3)

Denise Angelsey & I.

After the show, I literally ran around to grab shots with the designers before they disappeared. The show was a hit!

Zorro & I.
The details of her designs are clearer here!
Lace, sparkle, feathers, chains to make the perfect outfit.

I've made a few friends that day as well. The girls were really friendly and we chatted a lot while doing hair and makeup, and also waiting backstage. One of the friendliest was Sarah, who is Miss Humanity International New Zealand 2013. Glad to have met her. She plays the clarinet too! Haha

That's her and Miss Sustainable Style Model, Hannah. :) They rocked it in Nora Swann's designs!

Dane Dagger, myself and Zorro Potion.

Had such a long day that day at the Hutt. I really couldn't have done it without the help and support of my partner-in-crime/personal photographer. ;) Thanks for being there for me the whole day, bibs!

It was quite an experience, this is my 2nd fashion show here in New Zealand - and this was a big one! I totally did not expect to model as much here but I really thank God for everything that I've been blessed with here, like contract with a modelling agency. :D Yes, I've upgraded to an official model now and not self-proclaimed or anything like that. Hehe

Many thanks to Denise, the designers, David and the team. I enjoyed modelling and performing for the NZ crowd too! On runways, twice this year.

One of the models was kind enough to give Doug and I a lift back! She's such a sweetheart.
My face probably had like 3 - 4 layers of makeup and my hair numerous rounds of hairspray.

So this is what I look like after a long day.
Pretty anot? Lol.

On Facebook, people are calling me Crayon Shin Chan cos of my brows. :P
You meanies! Haha

After a week, NZ Eco Fashion Exposed came out on Wainuiomata News and there's a picture of me in it! Woohoo!

Took the paper to my lecturer as the paper mentioned me playing the violin and that I am a student from NZSM. He was surprised, the good kind. Haha

Here's the link to the newspaper: http://issuu.com/the.star/docs/213268wn

For more information and pictures, visit NZ Eco Fashion Exposed's Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/NZecofashionweek

Pictures from the official Facebook page & Doug. He's gained some pretty decent photography skills to take good, post-worthy pictures with just an iPod, I must add. :)

Be back in KL soon!

From London with Love : Dorothy Perkins Clothes Review

[Review/Ad]

So recently I was contacted by Dorothy Perkins UK to review their clothes, and was sponsored a couple of pieces. At first, I was doubting it slightly, whether it was true or not. But turns out, it was one my dreams that came true!

I've always liked Dorothy Perkins! Their designs are sweet and sophisticated. Heck, I even got mom to get a Dorothy Perkins dress to wear for my cousin's wedding reception at church. :D

With love, from London!!
I was literally jumping in excitement when I received this parcel.

So here's my review of the few pieces of clothing that were sponsored to me. :)

This one is my FAVOURITE.
It's the cream Fringe Clutch from the Kardashian Kollection. I totally am not a Kardashian fan but this bag is so adorable! A friend told me that it look like a miniature version of Cousin It from the Addams Family.
 Still think it's adorable.

Can't wait to use it for parties and events when I get back home to Malaysia!

Here's the link to it on the DP Official Website!

*Off-topic*
This was taken right in front of my place. The sky here in Wellington is so pretty!

Date night with Doug the other day in town (not the same day as the pix were taken, of course) and I decided to use it. It's not too small, and fits all my essentials like my purse, phone, keys and even my lipgloss. ^_^

Another thing that came in was this darling little cardigan I have on! It's super comfy and makes a chic layering piece, perfect for casual use.

Here's the link. It is out of stock, however, but check out DP's other cardigans!

And finally, the last one in the parcel was this skirt.
Finally, more skirts!! 90% of my wardrobe for bottoms are shorts. Jeans be the 10% just cos it's freezing here in Wellington. If not, shorts FTW! It's obvious that I'm a short-shorts girl but this stripey skirt just stole my attention when I saw it on the DP website.

One more reason to love DP - the Petite range! Suitable for "fun-sized" girls like me, who usually have a hard time buying European branded clothes because they're usually too big to wear. Shopping there always lead to disappointment, unfortunately.

Not when I got my skirt though. This skirt is in size 4.

Two words.
Just. Nice. :)

Anyway!
I just want to thank Lucy who's been in touch with me from the official Dorothy Perkins UK and having these lovely goodies sent to me all the way in Wellington, New Zealand! Of course, a huge thank you to the official Dorothy Perkins for sponsoring me these clothing.

All these photos were taken by Doug with his iPod, I was so impressed!
Hehe even my mom says that his photo taking skills are improving since we started hanging out as friends. Thanks for helping me, sweetheart.

On another note, things are looking up for me here. My nightmares finally stopped, or I don't remember them by the time I wake up, and I finally had a proper afternoon nap yesterday before mass. So looking forward to tonight's JazzJazzJazz concert at St. James Theater. :)

Time to get back to doing my Don Giovanni essay for my Opera course.
Stay tuned.

Hanger Magazine Launch SS12

Helloesss

It's finally MAY! Almost reaching the mid of 2012. How time flies!

So the ROXY Girls were invited to the Launch of Hanger Magazine at Ecoba, SS12, last week! How exciting it was for us all to get together again!

So here we are again, in our Roxy T-shirts! Since Hanger Magazine is a fashion magazine, we were asked to "jazz" up our Roxy T-shirts in whatever style we wanted.

I totally had zero idea what to do with a T-shirt, besides wearing it... um.. like a t-shirt? Made a massive mess in my room and then.. *lightbulb moment* I decided to wear my cap, football socks and gym shoes. XD

The BLUE team Roxy-ready for the event~

Catherine & myself.

It was a rather interesting event. There were pretty cool DJs who spun funky music to match the mood and the event was al-fresco. It was very laid back and everyone was just enjoying the breeze on a Saturday night.

Other than catching up with the girls, it was good to see some familiar faces at the event as well! :)

Raj Aria

Jeremy from RED.FM!

Ben from Juice Magazine and Jeremy

Not forgetting, Dustyhawk!

We also made a tiny appearance that night on stage taking a picture while saying, "HANGER!"

It was a fun night although it was just a small event. It was inspiring to see fashion lovers in hipster clothes and rainbow-colored hair (while mine just has some red in it) !

What a nice break to take after studying for hours. Heheh. Was *this* close to sitting this event out because of upcoming exams but I just needed some time to unwind.

Oh yeah! The voting session for the ROXY "Let the sea set you free" contest ends MAY 9th at 3.00PM!!

Thank you so much to those of you who added to my vote count everyday. :) I really appreciate your clicks!

I still need your votes, people!
