Want to be a ROXY Girl?

 ATTENTION, GIRLS!

Roxy is launching yet another global social media challenge encouraging young ladies to challenge themselves to push their limits and live life to the fullest. 

Just like the previous campaign, "Let the Sea Set You Free", Roxy seeks girls who fulfill the Roxy criteria, naturally beautiful, fun and alive, daring and confident! It's gonna be awesome! If you remembered, I was a finalist in the previous campaign in April 2011.

Here's a mini flashback.

I've learnt to surf.

 I looked like a thing in a bikini being thrown around in the water (as in I felt like I was in a washing machine), but I sure as heck enjoyed myself! Haha

I also LOVE Roxy swimwear.
The colours are so pretty and they fit so securely and nicely.

Got to strut my stuff on the runway, all in my Roxy gear!

Now, which babe doesn't enjoy that? ;)

Most importantly, I have made many new friends! 

Personally, I was going through a rough patch during that time. Roxy really helped me get my mind off things and out of my rut! Even better, I had friends who showed their love and supported me throughout the whole campaign! <3

So that was me as a Roxy girl as part of the Let the Sea Set You Free campaign!

This time around, five contestants from all around the world will win a trip of a lifetime with the Roxy professional athletes, monetary prizes and Roxy apparel. In addition to that, Roxy Malaysia will be choosing top 10 finalists for an opportunity to have the ultimate Roxy girl experience.

The top 10 Roxy girl finalists will also receive prizes from Roxy merchandises, Skullcandy headphones, Boardriders Café vouchers and Inglot beauty products. 

The contest opens from 24th January till 28th March 2013,

 where participants from the age of 18 – 28 years old are eligible to send their entries via online or by dropping by at the Roxy road shows at these dates and locations:-

• 2 February (Sat) Quiksilver Pavilion, KL 

• 23 February (Sat) Quiksilver Suria Sabah, KK

Ashley at the Military Airbase

This is your Commander Ashley reporting at the military airbase.

So I was at the old airplane museum at Sungai Besi the other day with Michael Yip, just doing a random shoot for fun. :) Decided to do it Army-style.

Yeah I was never an airplane kinda girl ( I prefer cars) but after shooting at this place I actually gained some knowledge about planes. Heh. Educational trip + pictures. Not bad.

So much has been happening! CIE A Levels A2 exams are around the corner and I'm just spending hours and hours with the books, hardly any time to breathe. One more month and my shackles are broken! 

Accounting. Econs. Psychology. Rinse and repeat.

I know most of the other A Levels kids may smirk that I'm not taking any science subjects but it feels like I've a whole load on my plate now. I'm going nuts just having this and other *issues*.

On another note, thank you so SO MUCH to those who voted for me for the Roxy Let the Sea Set You Free contest! I love you all, you know who you are. :) I couldn't have done it without you.

The voting session closed last Tuesday, on the 8th of May. Now we're all waiting for the finalists to be announced on the 17th of May. Who made it and who didn't. *fingers crossed*

Oh yes! Who went for the Russell Peter's Notorious World Tour 2012? 

I went to watch him perform live at Stadium Malawati, Shah Alam, last Friday. Laughed till my cheeks hurt so bad! The stadium was quite packed with people, all tickets were sold out!!

It was an awesome show. Made my Friday night!

Looking forward to this Friday night.

Hanger Magazine Launch SS12

It's finally MAY! Almost reaching the mid of 2012. How time flies!

So the ROXY Girls were invited to the Launch of Hanger Magazine at Ecoba, SS12, last week! How exciting it was for us all to get together again!

So here we are again, in our Roxy T-shirts! Since Hanger Magazine is a fashion magazine, we were asked to "jazz" up our Roxy T-shirts in whatever style we wanted.

I totally had zero idea what to do with a T-shirt, besides wearing it... um.. like a t-shirt? Made a massive mess in my room and then.. *lightbulb moment* I decided to wear my cap, football socks and gym shoes. XD

It was a rather interesting event. There were pretty cool DJs who spun funky music to match the mood and the event was al-fresco. It was very laid back and everyone was just enjoying the breeze on a Saturday night. 

Other than catching up with the girls, it was good to see some familiar faces at the event as well! :)

We also made a tiny appearance that night on stage taking a picture while saying, "HANGER!"

It was a fun night although it was just a small event. It was inspiring to see fashion lovers in hipster clothes and rainbow-colored hair (while mine just has some red in it) !

What a nice break to take after studying for hours. Heheh. Was *this* close to sitting this event out because of upcoming exams but I just needed some time to unwind.

Music Conference Asia 2012

Aren't you all happy it's a public holiday tomorrow AND the end of your Monday blues? 

I know I am! #mondayhater

After a long day of studies and a gym sesh, all I wanna do is crash in bed, knowing that I have a class to teach tomorrow morning! Since it's a month till exams, it's gonna be eat, sleep, study, gym. Rinse and repeat.

Anyway, it was the Music Conference Asia last Saturday night at the Sepang International Circuit, a concert tour featuring artistes like Dash Berlin, Julie Thompson, Richard Durand and more. The spice of my weekend last week!

It was an interesting experience, for a person who hasn't gone to rave concerts before. I'd like to go see Steve Aoki perform if he does come down to Kuala Lumpur again. Hehe. 

On another note,  I painted my nails again. This is Rainbow Connection by O.P.I. Not that it's important, but   nailpolish is one of the things I can never get sick of! :)

Also, I hope people who went for the Bersih 3.0 rally got back safely and didn't get badly injured. Go, yellow!  After seeing pictures and videos of the rally, it was really nice to see people united and stand up for rights. Plus, I think yellow looks good on them. ;)

Roxy @ Mid Valley Fashion Week 2012 (Day 3)

Previously, in Ashley's Universe..

Okay, so about a week ago, last Sunday to be precise, it was Mid Valley's Fashion Week 2012, and ROXY was one of the shows, featuring their awesome finalists..... us!

 It was a really exciting day for all of the girls and myself, getting to walk on the runway, Roxy-fied, and in front of hundreds of people at Mid Valley Center Court!

Oh we had a full day ahead of us.

:: The Pre-show ::

In the morning, I had rushed my butt to church, and after that went to Sungei Wang to my trusted hairdresser to get the ends of my hair nicely touched up before the show. 

Tadaaaah ~

I literally ran to Snips Academy, at BB Plaza to get my makeup done, meeting the rest of the girls there. So excited to see them again!

When we arrived, we were all astonished to see the beautiful stage and runway we were about to walk on! Not to mention quite freaked out to how grand and huge it was!

We were all supposed to be sun children that day. But when I saw this top given to me, I was like, "Whoa, yellow. Me like!"  Can't help but be energetic and happy wearing a colour like this!

:: Showtime ::

So the show was opened by emcee Liang, who brought the energy to the crowd!

Finally, it was my turn to face the faces of the Mid Valley crowd after my name was called. My heart was beating fast in my chest, but man, was I so SO happy when I was walking on the runway! I just couldn't stop smiling when I heard my friends and fans scream my name and cheered me on once I stepped out. :')

Yeah, that's how tremendously happy I was when I was out there.

After which, we all had a Q&A session with Liang!

The question I was asked was, "Where is the ONE place that you always dream of living at and why?"

So, readers, can you guess? *wink*

After which, all the finalists did a final walk and returned backstage.

Despite being nervous, the girls looked awesome and rocked the runway! At least that's what we like to think. Haha! All of us sure had a fun time on the runway.

:: The Surprise ::

Something happened when I was backstage after doing my walk. A mysterious bouquet of flowers came for me, from an unknown sender. I was so pleasantly surprised and it only boosted my mood that evening. Six beautiful pink roses. Thank you, Mr Sender, you know who you are, your flowers gave me strength and made my smile bigger that evening! :)
