Another wedding performance

Another week has passed.

So, last week, I had received a call from a bride who last minutely wanted a violinist to play for her march-in for the wedding reception. And since it was last minute, she couldn't find anyone else who would do it. So, it's Super Ash to save the day!

*was so tempted to poke the cake*

I'm just kidding. I'm glad she called because I was just thinking of how I missed performing for weddings, since the last one, which was my cousin's.

This one was held at Duck King Tycoon, at Wisma Selangor Dredging, Kuala Lumpur. It was a Chinese wedding reception. They have requested me to play "Endless Love" as the march-in song. I thought it was a pretty good choice, also one of my parents' wedding songs.

Here's the bride and myself! She was so gorgeous. Loved her gown! The thing I look forward to during weddings... bridal gowns. heh

However, there was such a huge heart attack for me when I arrived at the venue.

There was no sound technician.
No one knew where to plug my electric violin in.
Tried every hole to jack it in but no sound.

I swear, it was 30 minutes before the whole thing was going to start and there was gonna be a no march-in with the violin. I didn't care. There WAS gonna be a show.

Finally, Dan managed to find the right place to jack in the violin to and there was SOUND. Was never so happy in my life. Amazing, he is.

You know, before every huge event or planned event, something goes wrong and then problem is solved and things go back exactly as planned? I thank God there was a happy ending to my situation.

Crisis averted.
Then everything else went smooth sailing. Even with no sound technician. ;)

I had used a wireless mic to play and walk at the same time. It was all good and the couple requested me to play another song after the first course.. and I played the same one I had played and arranged for my cousin's wedding.

I'm glad they liked it. And I had fun performing for them and the crowd was just lovely.
Congrats to the bride & groom!

Wedding of the year Pt.2

Held in the Grand Ballroom of Hilton Sentral KL, finally, the dinner of Kenneth & Marie's wedding!

Making their first entrance to L-O-V-E by Nat King Cole. Marie in her Zang Toi gown again.
We had a traditional Chinese dinner starting with a Hot & Cold first course. Silence in the ballroom filled with Joanne Yeoh's quartet playing "4 Seasons" by Vivaldi.

Everyone looking gorgeous as I quickly passed the cocktail area to sound check before the whole event begun. I accompanied the bride & groom on their 2nd walk-in on the violin to a mashup of Taylor's Swift Love Story & Viva la Vida by Coldplay.

All the ladies in the hotel room before the magic begins!
Myself, Eileen, Dolly, Aryll & mama.

Btw, this might be the first time anyone's seen me in a real evening gown. #justsayin

A very blur picture of me performing. Shall put up more pictures once they're uploaded!

Kim, Eileen & myself

There weren't so many pictures this time because we were all too busy and it was pretty hectic. For Kim and I, it was hair early in the morning after church, then rush down to Hilton for rehearsals & soundcheck and then getting ready, makeup, then showtime. Plus other stuff too.

Nonetheless, it was a beautiful wedding. Very touching too. There was alot of food to keep everyone smiling and speeches that made us laugh. At the end of it all, I'd just like to say a huge "Welcome to the family!" to Marie. May you be a part of our crazy family!

Wedding of the year (Pt.1)

Firstly, a huge Congratulations goes to my cousin Kenneth Lim & his newly-wedded wife Marie Phua!

Today was their wedding mass at Church of Divine Mercy in the morning, followed by lunch and a tea ceremony at the house.

Iz, the ring bearer.

The rings.

The groom and his grooms' men. That's my cousin in the grey suit. *points* All of them anticipating the bride's entrance!

The moment everyone's been waiting for..

Tadah! The blushing bride in her Zang Toi wedding gown.

The wedding mass was a real success. It was really touching seeing two people get united for life. I am so genuinely happy and proud for them.

And of course, yours truly as the wedding commentator for today.

Their smiles after being pronounced man & wife. :')

Yours truly.

My super tall sister, whom everyone think is the "jiejie".. Now I'm the baby. Haha

Bride in hers, looking gorgeous.

The rest of the day was spent in Eileen's room, camwhoring. :)

I love this picture of my niece.

That's all for today. Tomorrow is the wedding dinner and my much awaited performance to walk in the bride & groom into the ballroom! *holds breath*  Well, may everything go as plan and stay tuned for a ton of pics of the wedding dinner.
