Movie Review : The Hangover Part 3

I've watched this movie a few weeks back and still smile
when I think about the funny bits or talk about it with Doug. Even after 2 movies, the directors still manage to keep things fresh and interesting.

Anyway, the Wolf Pack is back with a new twist to the plot! Yes, there's more mayhem in this final puzzle piece to the Hangover Trilogy and it is not to be missed. I could watch it again and again and again. There were times where things got into serious/thriller mode, then the characters just dove into comedy again. It was amazing!

My most favorite character in this movie is, no doubt, Mr Chow, who plays the funny villain in the trilogy. He just doesn't die! He just keeps reappearing and we love it! Ken Jeong, who plays Mr Chow, is simply an amazing actor. I watched one of his interviews and turns out that he's a certified doctor as well! Can you imagine that? Mr Chow, a doctor in real life? Damn.

Here's the twist ; (spoiler alert)
No one got drugged.

In part three of the trilogy, Mr Chow escapes from prison in Thailand where he was arrested in The Hangover 2. Meanwhile, while Doug, Phil and Stu were taking Alan to a rehab facility, Phil's minivan is rammed off the road and they were taken hostage by a mob. Doug is taken hostage while the Wolf Pack is sent off to track down Chow, by the angry mob leader.

The rest is for you to watch and find out. :)

When I watched the trailer, I just couldn't wait to get time on my hands to run to the cinema to catch this movie. If there's one word to sum up the Hangover Trilogy, it would be unpredictable. Seriously, I could watch the trilogy more than once and still crack up.

It was frikkin' epic.
Definitely a must watch!

"We had a sick night, bitches!" - Chow

Verdict : 9/10
(Yes, I liked it that much)

Movie Review : Hansel & Gretel : Witch Hunters

Read the fairytale of Hansel & Gretel by the Brothers Grimm?
What do you think happened to the brave siblings after the whole candyhouse incident?

Here's a movie that retells the tale of these two siblings, with an action packed twist (..and by that, I mean multiple barrel guns, double crossbows and other kickass weapons!)

Synopsis:
5 years after siblings Hansel and Gretel hatched their escape from a child-snatching witch who changed their lives forever . . . and gave them a taste for blood. Now they have come of age as fierce, formidably skilled bounty hunters 100% dedicated to tracking and terminating witches in every dark forest -- hell-bent on retribution. But as the notorious Blood Moon approaches and a familiar wooded town faces a nightmare for its innocent children, Hansel & Gretel encounter an evil beyond any witch they’ve ever hunted – an evil that could hold the secret to their frightening past.

Starring Jeremy Renner (you might remember him as Hawkeye in The Avengers Movie), as Hansel and hotstuff Gemma Arterton as Gretel.

I thought it was a fun movie!

Perfect for after a long day of work and all you wanna do is just put your brain in your pocket, kick back, relax and enjoy some gore, slight comedy and action. There were funny bits here and there, also the usage of some foul language, which cracked me up because it was so unexpected.

Also, the gore was awesome! The weapons used to slay witches weren't lousy puny medieval weapons, which earned some brownie points in my book.
I also really liked the cast of the movie. Great choice of actors & actresses. Especially the main villain. Here's a hint : She's from the movie X-MEN & Taken.

However, I found the storyline so-so but I didn't expect much from it, really, as it was supposed to be a fun, entertaining movie.

"Do not take the candy!" -Hansel

Violin performance at the Les Miserables Gala Premier @ GSC Signature, The Gardens

Back in action again with my string soulmate!

I was so excited when I got a call from Red FM Malaysia to perform on the violin for the Gala Premier of the movie Les Miserables at GSC Signature, The Gardens last night.

After being told that it was a gala, I knew a mini cocktail or clubbing dress just would not do!
What better than to be dressed elegantly in a cream coloured Bariano gown, since I was performing classic tunes from the movie on my acoustic violin, accompanying Priya on vocals.

It was a given that the devil was my plus one that night, looking dashing and sweet enough to help me carry my violin wherever I went.

Who could ever forget my world class Personal Assistant/Sister/Plus two, struttin' her stuff in a hot pink dress last night! Kim also helped me with my hair catastrophe I encountered when getting ready. ilubyou for braiding my thick monstrous hair~

Priya, myself & Kim. Priya and I performed "I Dreamed a Dream" and "White Christmas". The woman could really sing!

Met a couple of familiar faces there as well.
Here's Liang & myself.

Was surprising to see Jeremy Choy there as well!

Jeremy Teo from Red FM.

Kat, myself, Maria, who played the cello beautifully and Kimmeh.

Here's a trailer of the movie.

Verdict : 8/10.

Pretty damn awesome, I'd say.
Shame I was quite exhausted and almost fell asleep at some parts but it was really really good.
Hugh Jackman can really sing too! FYI, girls, he is *SO* not hot in this movie so be ready to see a not so hunky Jackman. Haha!
All in all, my favorite character in the movie is Helena Bonham Carter, so this movie is a must-watch!

Ps. Here's a video of one of the songs we performed. Taken by my iPhone.

Also, I will be interviewed on BERNAMA RADIO tomorrow at 9pm, frequency is 93.9! So be sure to tune in!

Movie Review : Soar Into the Sun (2012)

Good news for all you Rain (Bi) fans!
He's back in action, in the new 2012 blockbuster movie Soar into the Sun!

Short synopsis :
A South Korean Elite Black Eagles Air Force pilot Tae-hun finds himself transferred to a combat flying unit after a cocky, unplanned, and dangerous air show demonstration. On the first day of his transfer to F15K, he meets Cheol-hui, the unit's own top gun.
Tae-hun is free-spirited, whereas Cheol-hui plays by the rules, and the two come into conflict almost immediately. However, Tae-hun quickly befriends his other colleagues: Dae-seo, Yu-jin, and Seok-hyeon.
He also falls in love with Se-yeong, who is in charge of maintenance. Tae-hun continues his free-spirited ways and his antics get suspended from duty. Then one day, reconnaissance mission turns into an unexpected incident, ending in Dae-seo's untimely death and Seok-hyeon's disappearance.
Initially blaming Cheol-hui for the tragedy, he and Tae-hun eventually come to an emotional understanding. Now the F15K make preparations to stop a war and rescue their missing comrade.

Rain as the main character of the movie, Tae-hun.
Psst... there's even a shirtless bit of Rain in the movie for all you fangirls!

I told you so!! Hee.

Se-yeong, the pretty lass in the movie who looks gorgeous without makeup.

I'll be honest. I'm not a huge fan of Korean movies or dramas and I know nuts about fighter jets.
But this movie was fairly watchable, as there were elements that made it a typical Korean drama, which was it supposed to be. I was once a die hard Rain fan though. I must say, his acting skills have improved since the Korean drama series, Full House!

The music played during the movie was nice too, some parts of the movie reminded me of a music video, actually. I also admired the creativity of how the movie was shot, at a few parts of the movie, like when Rain was riding on a motorcycle.

Overall, I'd say it's just.. dramatic, the way it should be, despite having fighter jets and all. Haha! When it's sad, it gets reaaally sad. When there was a funny scene, you could hear the giggles in the cinema.

My ratings : 6.5/10

This is a must-watch for Top Gun fans, Korean drama fans, and those of you who love Rain!
Catch it in cinemas, starting on the 8th of November 2012!

Monologue : Loose Knees and The Dark Knight Rises

So I just got back from watching The Dark Knight Rises.

IT WAS FRIGGIN AWESOME!

I've not enjoyed a movie as much as this. The ending was just so epic. Shan't spoil it for you guys but you definitely won't be disappointed watching this movie!

Words of advice : WATCH BOTH BATMAN BEGINS & THE DARK KNIGHT

Best advice ever! Then everything clearly makes sense and enhances the awesomeness!
I really enjoyed the movie despite the service MBO Cinemas at Subang Parade being shitty, the ratio of the screen not perfect, movie blurry, the lights took so long to be switched off and the worst part of it all is the sound of the movie in the cinema! One minute it was loud and perfect, then the volume just drops. It was as if your ears were blocked.
Totally uncool.

Other than that, man, I had quite a night. A few eye openers here and there in the movie. So pay attention, people! Oh yeah, Anne Hathaway makes an awesome Catwoman. And Bane is quite creepy. Totally different than the Bane in the super old-school Batman movie with Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy in it.

My ratings : 10/10

Spent a few hours at the gym today.
And realized that my knee felt a little loose while exercising, had a very odd pain and started shaking when I put weight on it. It was pretty scary and I almost had tears in my eyes. So I quickly rushed over to the pharmacy to get a knee guard. Now the other knee seems to be failing on me as well, guess they aren't recovered from the dance rehearsals and all. : / freakydeaky.

Now to spoil myself with one more episode of Sex & the City then off to bed I go!

Movie Review :: The Amazing Spiderman (2012)

One of the world’s most popular characters is back on the big screen as a new chapter in the Spider-Man legacy is revealed in The Amazing Spider-Man™.

Yes, Spidey's back!
And this time played by Social Network's Andrew Garfield.

The new Peter Parker!

The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker, an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben ( Martin Sheen) and Aunt May ( Sally Field).

Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today.  Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets.

As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents’ disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors (Ifans), his father’s former partner.

So there's a hot hero and a hot damsel. Not forgetting the villain in this movie!
As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors’ alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

Having a fear of lizards, scenes of the villain made me cringe and covered my face with my cap. *shivers*

Thanks to Sony Pictures Malaysia and Malaysia's Hottest Bloggers I got to watch this awesome movie.

Overall, this movie was pretty damn awesome, packed with superb action and breathtaking 3D effects!
Psst. Having a cute Spidey was a plus! Heh heh.

My ratings : 9/10

My advice?

Catch this movie at the nearest IMAX Theaters in 3D!!

Marvel's The Avengers Movie Review

Comic book fans!

Superhero wannabes!

are..

you..

READY??

Marvel Studios presents to you “Marvel’s The Avengers”— a kick-ass superhero team featuring Marvel Super Heroes Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins.

Nick Fury, who recruits the superheros to save the world.

None other than Captain America (real name Steve Rogers), taking up his iconic shield and bringing his strength, leadership and no-nonsense attitude to The Avengers.

Iron Man (Tony Stark), who quoted himself as an "eccentric genius, a billionaire, a playboy and a philanthropist".

Thor, God of Thunder, who unintentionally join forces with The Avengers, lending his power to their cause against his wayward brother, Loki

The Hulk, also known as Doctor Bruce Banner. When a mounting threat calls for Banner’s specialized scientific expertise, S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury recruits him, knowing full well that the incredible strength of Banner’s alter ego, the Hulk, would be an asset to The Avengers.

The Black Widow ( Agent Natasha Romanoff), a Russian spy and assassin. Not only does she kick ass, she sure does have vast skills in specialized weapons like cluster bombs and widow stings. Plus, she looks hot doing it!

Hawkeye, one of S.H.I.E.L.D's most elite agents, whose weapon of  choice is his famous recurve bow.

The evil Loki, also brother of Thor returns with a nefarious plot to conquer Earth and will stop at nothing to see his vision realized.

This movie is the best superhero movie I have seen! I enjoyed the awesome 3D effects, especially when watching it in IMAX theaters, things exploding, seeing how the superheroes team together and save the world!

Also, not forgetting some eye candy we have in this movie. *wink*

Thor & Captain America. :)

Black Widow looking smockin' hot as she poses strategically in front of an exploding vehicle.

This movie is totally a Must-see!
Not only are the superheroes awesome, I just can't get enough of the eye candy action and effects!

I'm sure it is one of the most anticipated movies of 2012, you just gotta get your butts to the cinema and WATCH IT NO MATTER WHAT!

Obviously, my ratings would be 10/10. Thanks to MHB that I get to enjoy the premier of this movie, in 3D at IMAX theaters. :)

MHB's Kate, Michelle and myself smiling happily and feeling satisfied after watching the movie. However, I'm definitely going for seconds and maybe thirds for this movie, since I also love comic books and superheros, preferably hot ones.. #geek

Here's the trailer, so be excited for a movie packed with superhero awesomeness!~

Catching up..

It's been awhile!

Finally, some time to sit and blab about things going on with me recently, apart from events, parties and such. Like I've mentioned, I just moved houses. So everything is cluttered everywhere! It's been 2 weeks plus living in my new place, and I really love this house.

Well, a fresh start is always good, I suppose. :)

Well here's me & Kim at the house for the first time.

A few pics of how the new place looks like, when it was empty.

And what's left of the old place ; clutter, rubbish, etc. Buang semua~

Still taking time to settle down. I really love this new neighborhood. It's safe with security guards doing roundings every now and then. And it has the loveliest park too. It's even safe to take a walk there at night as there are lights and security guards.

I also finally have my own room, so I can decorate it however the heck I want~!

Okay so other than that, I just got back from watching The Vow.

Pretty awesome movie, I'd say. It was so romantic and I went there with the right person, at the right time. *wink*

I'm not usually a huge fan of Channing Tatum, but he was quite adorable in this movie. And I also realized that he has really cute teeth. Haha!

Here's the trailer to get all you girls (and guys.. don't pretend you don't like it) excited! ~

I liked the story, it wasn't too slow or boring. It was quite dramatic though, and could have been better if it was longer (cos I was enjoying it so much). Personally think Rachel McAdams look better a brunette.

Ratings : 9/10

Would watch it again. Not one of my usual favorites because there was no violence or action, but this one is a must watch! It made my night.

Ps. Stay tuned to see what went on during the Johnnie Walker Black Circuit Lounge night!
