From London with Love : Dorothy Perkins Clothes Review

So recently I was contacted by Dorothy Perkins UK to review their clothes, and was sponsored a couple of pieces. At first, I was doubting it slightly, whether it was true or not. But turns out, it was one my dreams that came true!

I've always liked Dorothy Perkins! Their designs are sweet and sophisticated. Heck, I even got mom to get a Dorothy Perkins dress to wear for my cousin's wedding reception at church. :D

I was literally jumping in excitement when I received this parcel. 

So here's my review of the few pieces of clothing that were sponsored to me. :)

This one is my FAVOURITE.

It's the cream Fringe Clutch from the Kardashian Kollection. I totally am not a Kardashian fan but this bag is so adorable! A friend told me that it look like a miniature version of Cousin It from the Addams Family.

 Still think it's adorable.

Can't wait to use it for parties and events when I get back home to Malaysia!

This was taken right in front of my place. The sky here in Wellington is so pretty!

Date night with Doug the other day in town (not the same day as the pix were taken, of course) and I decided to use it. It's not too small, and fits all my essentials like my purse, phone, keys and even my lipgloss. ^_^

Another thing that came in was this darling little cardigan I have on! It's super comfy and makes a chic layering piece, perfect for casual use.

And finally, the last one in the parcel was this skirt.

 Finally, more skirts!! 90% of my wardrobe for bottoms are shorts. Jeans be the 10% just cos it's freezing here in Wellington. If not, shorts FTW! It's obvious that I'm a short-shorts girl but this stripey skirt just stole my attention when I saw it on the DP website.

One more reason to love DP - the Petite range! Suitable for "fun-sized" girls like me, who usually have a hard time buying European branded clothes because they're usually too big to wear. Shopping there always lead to disappointment, unfortunately. 

Not when I got my skirt though. This skirt is in size 4.

Two words.
Just. Nice. :) 

Anyway!

On another note, things are looking up for me here. My nightmares finally stopped, or I don't remember them by the time I wake up, and I finally had a proper afternoon nap yesterday before mass. So looking forward to tonight's JazzJazzJazz concert at St. James Theater. :)

Time to get back to doing my Don Giovanni essay for my Opera course.

[ADV] Samsung Galaxy Y Hello Kitty Limited Edition launch

Here's what happened at the Samsung Galaxy Y Hello Kitty Limited Edition launch!

Since it's the Samsung Super Sweet BFF Party, I decided to bring my BFF in the entire universe, my own sis, Kim, who's gonna be forever taller than me despite being younger by 3 years.

 -_- What more with heels. Meh, love her anyway. :)

 

 The phone launch took place at GSC Pavilion,KL. 

Who knew the whole cinema area could look so pink and pretty! I was so excited the moment the hues of pink caught my eye and all the pretty pink and white balloons that greeted guests at the entrance!

And finally the treasure we've all been waiting for... the Samsung Galaxy Y Hello Kitty Limited Edition phone!

 

Is it adorable or what! It's fun-sized, and best part of it all, it's TOTALLY Hello Kitty-fied. I'm not even kidding. 

It has a fully customized Hello Kitty user interface, wallpaper and ringtones for you gals to enjoy! Plus, it has up to 350 hours of battery life for more BFF time! 

Its OS is Android (Gingerbread 2.3) with access to Google Play for applications like Facebook. Oh yeah, did I mention a 2MP camera to capture those BFF moments, and by that, I actually mean... camwhore? XD

The perfect phone for girls.

The launch was emceed by the beautiful Jojo Struys.

At 2.30pm, us girls were all ready to be pampered!

Adorable pink themed food & drinks! The pink drink was "Sirap Bandung", btw.

We were also served yummy bite-sized tarts and pretty cupcakes!

The airbrush tattoo station ready to operate!

We could choose to get a Hello Kitty airbrush tattoo wherever we wanted.. 

I was gonna go for the face but it occurred to me that I would be stuck with a Hello Kitty tattoo for the next few days... so.. collarbone instead! Lol

More things that got me suuuuuper excited... are these super girly and old school Hollywood style dressing tables! I insist on having one in my room next time.

 Makes putting make up feel all the more glamorous.*wink*

Having my makeup makeover done by this really friendly makeup artist!

And after which, a hair stylist put a little twist into my ordinary hairstyle.. literally.

 I loved it! Made me feel like a partial Princess Leia. Tried to recreate it at home. Success!

The party continued with a Hello Kitty inspired fashion show.

I personally loved the last ensemble the most! Hehe.

Had much fun with the other BFF's as well!

Made a new friend that day, Ashleigh! Yumi looked so adorable in her kitty hat.

Was thrilled to finally meet blogging sensations who made a special appearance ;

Kelly Siew & Ashleigh, who joined me and Kim for the rest of the event... and had the worst taxi ordeals to end the night! Lol. And despite all that, we managed to end the night with laughter and smiles. Was quite an adventure for the 4 of us.

The event ended with the movie screening of Rise of the Guardians in 3D for us! It was such a cute movie! And that coming from a person who's not really into animation, it has to be quite good. And it was! Go catch it in cinemas now!

ADV : MHB’s 2nd Anniversary Party Presented by Carlsberg

A happy happy 2nd birthday to Malaysia's Hottest Bloggers!

 In case you're wondering, Malaysia's Hottest Bloggers is a very exclusive community of female bloggers and was formed in August 2010.

 I am a part of this privileged community since 2011 and it has been a wonderful ride!

 Our community consists of pretty cool babes, from working professionals to models, radio Djs, students and Miss World Malaysia 2012. We blog about fashion, beauty, gadgets, travel, food and beverage, social issues, relationships, and indeed almost everything lifestyle. So far MHB has about 60 members and is still growing!

The anniversary party was celebrated with ice-chilled Carlsberg and delicious bites at Ecoba Restaurant & Bar in Damansara Perdana. It was a fun night where members gathered and got to know each other better. Of course, I made more new friends with the other girls whom I have not met yet through events! :)

We were served with this new dish on Ecoba's menu. 

It was so delicious and for once, I ate my veggies without pulling a face (rare moment indeed). The veggies were to be dipped in the creamy sauce and then eaten raw. It's just like fondue, but with this special sauce and veggies. Perfect for sharing!!

Shedding a little light on Ecoba Restaurant and Bar ; it is the ultimate neighbourhood bar concept that binds dining, fashion, music and entertainment in a pretty little package! Which explains its incontestable reputation as "The Sexiest Place in PJ".

 At Ecoba, you can either dine indoors or the al-fresco garden dining area. It would also be the go-to place for drinks with friends especially during Happy Hours as the prices are reasonable.

As you can see, guests are happily sipping on tall glasses or bottles of Carlsberg beer.

To kick off the show, the stage was taken by MHB's own 4 piece, all-girl band, Juliets of Eden. From Chinese songs to "Forget You" by CeeLo Green, these girls are very talented and versatile.

I did a solo performance on my trusty Yamaha Silent Violin that night and played three songs for the night ; Storm and Aurora by Vanessa Mae and Smooth Criminal by Michael Jackson.

I was happy to say that the entire time performing I could play and sway with relief as the sound system did not fail on me, nor did the soundman give me a hard time during soundcheck session! 

It was indeed an enjoyable time performing onstage. Especially when everything was executed right. Phewwie.

I also played  as the talented Chelsea Chil commanded the room with her sweet vocals. I had accompanied her on the violin for her songs ; The Climb by Miley Cyrus and Safe & Sound by Taylor Swift.

Oh! Me & Soren of Carlsberg also did a super impromptu performance where he rapped.. and me on strings. 

Seems impossible? 

Not when I got everyone at Ecoba to imitate the "We Will Rock You" beat! It's easy, *stomp stomp, clap* and repeat. It was good fun. Haha
