Okay, so who's up on a Monday morning at 10am, all dressed, packed and holding back the tears? If it's not the working people who has a seeeerious case of Monday blues, that would be me, yesterday morning.
By the time I post this, I would've arrived in New Zealand. Yay! My first post in Nz.
As I'm typing this in the plane, my mind is still glued to this morning's parting from my loved ones and family. It all happened so quickly. Too quickly. I recall having a mini bitching session with my girl right before entering the departure hall. Man, that was some interesting conversation that I've not had with her for some time now!
As for people who I'll miss dearly, the world probably knows that my lil sis will be the one my eyes cry for. I've never really been away from her for a long time. Then again, there are always firsts to things. I just read her card and it broke my heart in the plane. Good thing people are asleep in the plane. I'm not good with crying in public.
I know she'll be sad for the next couple of days, but I also know that she is in the hands of some really awesome friends Im blessed to have in my life, often like older siblings to her too.
I don't deny biting my lips and looking away to control my tears when Kim started the crying chain, which caused my cousin to start too.
It was hard leaving all of them behind. My gf, sis, cousin, angel and friend. The next best thing is to just distract my mind with loud metal music and keep being on the go.
I cannot imagine how it would be like being abroad! I dare say that I've not finished watching the LOTR trilogy, that Nick had helped me transfer to my lappie.... And I'm stepping into 'Middle Earth'!
Anyway, as for events and parties, I sure as heck am gonna miss Tim and the girls. I never fail to have a fun time when attending events, especially when I'm having a bad day, I often forget about it after attending an event. He's been the best papa bear ever! And some of the girls that I've been really really close to will be missed dearly as well.
I'm glad I left the past, memories and regrets there, on to a new chapter in my life. It's good to know that my nightmare of bawling like a big baby because I've to separate with a beau did NOT happen too.
No "excess baggage" brought with me to Nz at all. (Real excess baggage is a diff story - my luggages are 10 kg overweight)
I cannot believe that I'm sitting on a plane to Nz now, after all the madness that my mom n I went through. From scholarships, financial issues and incomplete visa applications, this is finally it!
Oh yeah. I'm real blessed to be given a scholarship to study Bachelor Degree of music, Classical performance for Violin, at New Zealand School of Music, Wellington.
Yes, I'm excited. What's the western style of approach to teaching classical music in depth? I'm gonna find out and I can't wait!
There are people doubting my success and me going to study overseas. However, there are lovely other people who sent me their wishes via my mom (who's fast asleep next to me now). My objective is to go as far as I can in music. Though I definitely am not underestimating the workload and standard of music education there. Hoping to come home a better violinist. :)
As for blogging, this isn't the end obviously. I won't stop blogging and sharing the next chapters of my life experiences in Kiwiland.
Thank you to those who have faith and believe in me. <3
On another note, I've never been so jet lagged in my entire life! New Zealand is 5 hours ahead of Malaysia, and now, it is 11.07 in Wellington. After reaching Auckland, a dear old friend took my mum and I out for lunch at Sylvia Park!
Had pretty good fish and chips too.
Yummers.
It's my first time ever in Auckland, so as my friend was driving around, I snagged a couple of these pics. Here's how New Zealand kinda looks like in the suburbs.
It is as beautiful in real life as it is in pictures.
The clouds in the sky were so pretty!
Not to mention, cute looking houses!
Gotta get settled down before I can start loving this place. Especially my uni and room at the university campus.
